Article Review: Russia-Ukraine War

This article provides vivid examples of how the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has affected Europe and the rest of the globe. Over fifty percent of Ukrainian youngsters have been relocated because of the conflict. Around 3.7 million people have left Ukraine, and many more are migrating. There is little doubt that the war in Ukraine has sparked major tensions in the area, but it has also had far-reaching effects on the international scene (Masters, 2022). Due to its impact on international economies, political systems, and international organizations, the Russia-Ukraine war has been the most significant geopolitical event of the 21st century.

It is no secret that Europe's energy and food markets have been severely disrupted by Russia's provocative and illegal invasion of Ukraine. Actions taken by EU member states to counteract price increases and supply shortages are being coordinated closely (Masters, 2022). Therefore, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in our time's most significant geopolitical development. Beginning in the latter part of 2021, there was a considerable spike in both the EU's and the world's overall cost of obtaining energy. The aggressive and unjustified Russian invasion on Ukraine has led to higher fuel prices and skepticism about the European Union's capacity to provide a steady supply of energy. Russia's move to restrict gas deliveries to several EU member states has exacerbated the problem.

International trade has been severely impacted by the crisis in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia and Ukraine. They have impacted both upstream and downstream commerce with these nations. The results may be anything from a temporary or permanent rise or decrease in price to the cancellation of trade routes, a drop in demand, or even a complete collapse of the economy (Masters, 2022). Therefore, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine has resulted in the most important geopolitical development of our day. The major consequence of the war on foreign trade has been a rise in the cost of essential supplies. Commodities are classified into three categories: energy, agriculture, and metals. Extreme price increases affect distribution channels and markets throughout the world. As a result, inflation rates have increased everywhere. Customers may need to be more inclined or capable of making the purchases they would regularly make.

In my opinion, friendly nations should back any efforts made by Ukraine to create its White Helmets-style organization. Thousands of Syrians have volunteered as the White Helmets to aid with medical evacuations, urban searches for victims of bombs, and the safe evacuation of whole neighborhoods. In light of Russia's increasingly indiscriminate attacks on people in Ukraine, it's clear that the country needs assistance. Many lives are hoped to be spared due to this advice after the hostilities are over.
