Contraceptive Options: Withdrawal Method

Coitus interruptus, or the withdrawal technique of contraception, is performed when a potential man removes his penis from the vagina and ejaculates elsewhere (Or et al., 2020). This paper's purpose is to evaluate the pull-out procedure against other forms of birth control.

Although 60% of couples have used birth control at least once, there is insufficient evidence to support the efficacy of the withdrawal strategy, sometimes known as pulling out. This is most likely because the approach has a bad reputation (Or et al., 2020). Researchers sometimes ignore the benefits of withdrawing in favor of other kinds of contraception because they believe it is "better than nothing."

Withdrawal is less successful than other methods of birth control and should be used in combination with emergency contraception (commonly known as morning-after pills) (Or et al., 2020). Furthermore, since it is so easy to combine with other methods, pulling out may give extra protection against pregnancy. Using withdrawal in combination to condoms, for example, is a fairly effective strategy of avoiding pregnancy.

Some women may be able to avoid pregnancy by using the withdrawal approach, but this doesn't help them avoid sexually transmitted diseases. It is possible to transfer some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) through direct skin contacts, such as with genital warts and herpes (Or et al., 2020). Since STDs, including chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea, may be transmitted via catarrh, it is recommended that the withdrawal method be used in conjunction with condoms for maximum safety.

In conclusion, using the pull-out technique with another kind of birth control is the best approach to ensure its success (like the ring, pill, or condoms). In this manner, the couple is still safeguarded even if a mistake is made. Condoms are the sole method to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and also prevent pregnancy if a couple forgets to draw out in time.
